LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Consumer prices in the 15-nation euro zone rose at a record, annual pace of 4% in June, Eurostat said Monday in a preliminary estimate, far exceeding the European Central Bank's target of just under 2%. The ECB is widely expected to hike its key lending rate by a quarter point to 4.25% when it meets Thursday. Consensus expectations were for a June rise of 3.9% after a 3.7% increase in May.
