Italy's economy surprisingly contracts (by MarketWatch)

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Italy's economy contracted by 0.2% in the fourth quarter compared to the third quarter and by 2.8% year-on-year. Economists had anticipated a 0.1% sequential rise and a 2.6% annual fall.
